Stat. tit. 11, § 11-7-105","heading":"Involuntary dissolution - Grounds - Petition in district","body":"court.\n\nThe district attorney for the county in which the situs of the\n\nmunicipal government is located may petition for involuntary\n\ndissolution of a municipality when the government of a municipality\n\nceases to function by reason of the following:\n\n1. General municipal elections have not been called in the\n\nmunicipality for two successive general municipal elections;\n\n2. A majority of all the members of the governing body fail to\n\nqualify for two successive general municipal elections; or\n\n3. The municipality is totally within an area subject to\n\nsubsidence, environmental contamination or flooding as a result of\n\nmining operations, dam construction or natural causes beyond the\n\ncontrol of the municipality, and said municipality is unable to meet\n\nthe cost of continuing its government and maintaining its services\n\nto residents due to a reduction in population resulting from such\n\ncircumstances.\n\nThe petition requesting involuntary dissolution shall be filed in\n\nthe district court in the county in which the situs of the\n\nmunicipality is located.
