Stat. tit. 11, § 11-8-106","heading":"Nepotism - Dual office holding","body":"No elected or appointed official or other authority of the\n\nmunicipal government shall appoint or elect any person related by\n\naffinity or consanguinity within the third degree to any governing\n\nbody member or to himself or, in the case of a plural authority, to\n\nany one of its members to any office or position of profit in the\n\nmunicipal government. The provisions of this section shall not\n\nprohibit an officer or employee already in the service of the\n\nmunicipality from continuing in such service or from promotion\n\ntherein. A person may hold more than one office or position in a\n\nmunicipal government as the governing body may ordain.
