Stat. tit. 12, § 12-1148.14","heading":"Forcible entry and detainer action not exceeding","body":"jurisdictional amount for small claims court - Small claims docket.\n\nAn action for forcible entry and detainer brought pursuant to\n\nprocedures prescribed otherwise in this title standing alone or when\n\njoined with a claim for recovery of rent, damages to the premises,\n\nor a claim arising under the Oklahoma Residential Landlord and\n\nTenant Act, where the total recovery sought, exclusive of attorney's\n\nfees and other court costs, does not exceed the jurisdictional\n\namount for the small claims court, shall be placed on the small\n\nclaims docket of the district court. The district courts may\n\nprovide by court rule that any action for forcible entry and\n\ndetainer may be assigned to the small claims division for\n\ndetermination of the right to possession, regardless of the\n\nunderlying amount in controversy, at the conclusion of which, the\n\nmatter shall be returned to the assigned judge for further\n\nproceedings. The court clerk shall in connection with such actions\n\nprepare the affidavit, by which the action is commenced, and the\n\nsummons, and generally assist unrepresented plaintiffs to the same\n\nextent that he is now required so to do under the Small Claims\n\nProcedure Act, Section 1751 et seq. of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0142ee12ffe3e0c5db07a3ad5aec79492903491159d447457bb1c9040b894468","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1148.13","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1148.15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
