Stat. tit. 12, § 12-1186","heading":"Garnishee not liable for what - Judgment on unmatured","body":"obligation.\n\nNo judgment shall be rendered upon a liability of the garnishee\n\narising --\n\nFirst, By reason of his having drawn, accepted, made, endorsed\n\nor guaranteed any negotiable bill, draft, note, or other security.\n\nSecond, By reason of any money or other thing received or\n\ncollected by him as sheriff or other officer, by force of an\n\nexecution or other legal process in favor of the defendant.\n\nThird, By reason of any money in his hands as a public officer,\n\nand for which he is accountable to the defendant merely as such\n\nofficer.\n\nFourth, By reason of any money or other thing owing from him to\n\nthe defendant, unless before judgment against the defendant it shall\n\nbecome due absolutely and without depending on any future emergency.\n\nJudgment may be given for any money or other thing owing, although\n\nit has not become payable, in which case the garnishee shall not be\n\nrequired to pay or deliver it before the time appointed by the\n\ncontract.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2d1526317bd4107527bd4c7c633ee80267a9aa125d923733587b3245cac25f36","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1185","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1187"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
