Stat. tit. 12, § 12-1462","heading":"Penalty for refusal or neglect to perform","body":"Whenever a peremptory mandamus is directed to any public\n\nofficer, body or board, commanding the performance of any public\n\nduty specially enjoined by law, if it appear to the court that such\n\nofficer, or any member of such body or board, has, without just\n\nexcuse, refused or neglected to perform the duty so enjoined, the\n\ncourt may impose a fine, not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars\n\n($500.00), upon every such officer or members of such body or board.\n\nSuch fine, when collected, shall be paid into the treasury of the\n\ncounty where the duty ought to have been performed; and the payment\n\nthereof is a bar to an action for any penalty incurred by such\n\nofficer or member of such body or board, by reason of his refusal or\n\nneglect to perform the duty so enjoined.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"717c341c9ba895053b654159090a6e09a2155d8f79043dc9bef3dc8ae84d7bab","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1461","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1481"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
