Stat. tit. 12, § 12-1531","heading":"Quo warranto abolished - Relief obtainable by civil","body":"action - Maintenance by contestants for office.\n\nThe writ of quo warranto, and proceedings by information in the\n\nnature of quo warranto, are abolished and the remedies heretofore\n\nobtainable in those forms may be had by civil action; provided, that\n\nsuch cause of action may be instituted and maintained by the\n\ncontestant for such office at any time after the issuance of the\n\ncertificate of election by the state, county, township or city\n\nelection boards, and before the expiration of thirty (30) days after\n\nsuch official is inducted into office; provided further, that all\n\nsuits now pending, contesting such elections, shall not be dismissed\n\nbecause of the prematurity as to time of their commencement, which\n\nshall be deemded valid and timely, if commenced after the issuance\n\nof the election certificate or after twenty (20) days after the\n\nresult of said election having been declared by such election board;\n\nand provided further, that this act shall not apply to primary\n\nelection.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7a81161253f9723191ab57c030f01e46e472c942cd39ec02af9b2a0083193150","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1517","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-1532"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
