Stat. tit. 12, § 12-1801","heading":"Purpose of act - Short title","body":"The Legislature is aware of the fact that many disputes arise\n\nbetween citizens of this state which are of small social or economic\n\nmagnitude and can be both costly and time consuming if resolved\n\nthrough a formal judicial proceeding. Many times such disputes can\n\nbe resolved in a fair and equitable manner through less formal\n\nproceedings. Such proceedings can also help alleviate the backlog\n\nof cases which burden the judicial system in this state.
