An arbitrator may award punitive damages or other exemplary\n\nrelief if such an award is authorized by law in a civil action\n\ninvolving the same claim and the evidence produced at the hearing\n\njustifies the award under the legal standards otherwise applicable\n\nto the claim.\n\nB. An arbitrator may award reasonable attorney fees and other\n\nreasonable expenses of arbitration if such an award is authorized by\n\nlaw in a civil action involving the same claim or by the agreement\n\nof the parties to the arbitration proceeding.\n\nC. As to all remedies other than those authorized by\n\nsubsections A and B of this section, an arbitrator may order such\n\nremedies as the arbitrator considers just and appropriate under the\n\ncircumstances of the arbitration proceeding. The fact that such a\n\nremedy could not or would not be granted by the court is not a\n\nground for refusing to confirm an award under Section 23 of this act\n\nor for vacating an award under Section 24 of this act.\n\nD. An arbitrator’s expenses and fees, together with other\n\nexpenses, shall be paid as provided in the award.\n\nE.
