Stat. tit. 12, § 12-2007","heading":"Pleadings allowed - Form of motions","body":"PLEADINGS ALLOWED; FORM OF MOTIONS\n\nA. PLEADINGS. There shall be a petition and an answer; a reply\n\nto a counterclaim denominated as such; an answer to a cross-claim,\n\nif the answer contains a cross-claim denominated as such; a third-\n\nparty petition, if a person who was not an original party is\n\nsummoned under the provisions of Section 14 of this act; and a\n\nthird-party answer, if a third-party petition is served. No other\n\npleading shall be allowed, except that the court may order a reply\n\nto an answer or a third-party answer.\n\nB. MOTIONS AND OTHER PAPERS.\n\n1. An application to the court for an order shall be by motion\n\nwhich, unless made during a hearing or trial, shall be made in\n\nwriting, shall state with particularity the grounds therefor, and\n\nshall set forth the relief or order sought. The requirement of\n\nwriting is fulfilled if the motion is stated in a written notice of\n\nthe hearing of the motion.\n\n2. The rules applicable to captions, signing, and other matters\n\nof form of pleadings apply to all motions and other papers provided\n\nfor by this act.\n\n3. All motions shall be signed in accordance with Section 11 of\n\nthis act.\n\nC.
