Stat. tit. 12, § 12-24","heading":"Journal record - Instruments to be entered - Microfilm","body":"Upon the journal record required to be kept by the clerk of the\n\ndistrict court in civil cases exclusive of the small claims docket\n\nand juvenile proceedings docket shall be entered copies of the\n\nfollowing instruments on file:\n\n1. All items of process by which the court acquired\n\njurisdiction of the person of each defendant in the case; and\n\n2. All instruments filed in the case that bear the signature of\n\nthe judge and specify clearly the relief granted or order made.\n\nThe journal may be kept entirely in microfilm, optical disks, or\n\nother appropriate medium. Existing journal records in the custody\n\nof the court clerk may be destroyed after being stored on at least\n\ntwo microfilm records, optical disks, or other appropriate medium,\n\none of which shall be placed by the court clerk with the Archives\n\nand Records Division of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, or in\n\na bank or other appropriate local depository, and one shall be\n\navailable for public use in the court clerk’s office. In case of\n\nfunctional failure of the record in the court clerk’s office the\n\ncopy in storage shall be made available to anyone requesting access\n\nto it. The cost of the storage medium and equipment and for viewing\n\nand copying shall be paid out of the court fund upon approval by the\n\nChief Justice of the Supreme Court. Copies of the journal record\n\nreproduced from microfilm, optical disk, and other media and copies\n\nof the original instruments that are part of the journal records,\n\nwhen certified by the court clerk having the custody of the\n\noriginal, may be received in evidence with the same effect as the\n\noriginal would have had and without further identification by the\n\nparty desiring to offer them.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3d1e6ed0d289adc184c83210fff4988c35587be43ad0f42c905c3f39be1fff7b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-236a","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-24.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
