Except as otherwise provided in this section evidence of the\n\nfollowing is not, in any civil or criminal proceeding, admissible\n\nagainst the defendant who made the plea or was a participant in the\n\nplea discussions:\n\n1. A plea of guilty which was later withdrawn;\n\n2. A plea of nolo contendere;\n\n3. Any statement made in the course of any proceedings under\n\nstate procedure regarding either of the foregoing pleas; or\n\n4. Any statement made in the course of plea discussions with an\n\nattorney for the prosecuting authority which do not result in a plea\n\nof guilty or which result in a plea of guilty which is later\n\nwithdrawn.\n\nB. However, such a statement is admissible in:\n\n1. Any proceeding wherein another statement made in the course\n\nof the same plea or plea discussions has been introduced and the\n\nstatement, as a matter of justice, should be considered\n\ncontemporaneously with it; or\n\n2.
