The credibility of a witness may be attacked or supported by\n\nevidence in the form of opinion or reputation, subject to these\n\nlimitations:\n\n1. The evidence may refer only to character for truthfulness or\n\nuntruthfulness; and\n\n2. Evidence of truthful character is admissible only after the\n\ncharacter of the witness for truthfulness has been attacked.\n\nB. Specific instances of the conduct of a witness, for the\n\npurpose of attacking or supporting the witness’s credibility, other\n\nthan conviction of crime as provided in Section 2609 of this title,\n\nmay not be proved by extrinsic evidence. They may, however, in the\n\ndiscretion of the court, if probative of truthfulness or\n\nuntruthfulness, be inquired into on cross-examination of the witness\n\nif they:\n\n1. Concern the witness’s character for truthfulness or\n\nuntruthfulness;\n\n2. Concern the character for truthfulness or untruthfulness of\n\nanother witness as to which character the witness being cross-\n\nexamined has testified.\n\nC.
