The requirement of authentication or identification as a\n\ncondition precedent to admissibility is satisfied by evidence\n\nsufficient to support a finding that the matter in question is what\n\nits proponent claims it to be.\n\nB. The following are illustrative examples of authentication or\n\nidentification conforming with the requirements of this Code:\n\n1. Testimony that a matter is what it is claimed to be;\n\n2. Nonexpert opinion as to the genuineness of handwriting,\n\nbased upon familiarity not acquired for purposes of the litigation;\n\n3. Comparison by the trier of fact or by expert witnesses with\n\nspecimens which have been authenticated;\n\n4. Appearance, content, substance, internal patterns or other\n\ndistinctive characteristics taken in conjunction with circumstances;\n\n5. Identification of a voice, whether heard firsthand or through\n\nmechanical or electronic transmission or recording, by opinion based\n\nupon hearing the voice at any time under circumstances connecting it\n\nwith the alleged speaker;\n\n6. Telephone conversations by evidence that a call was made to\n\nthe number assigned at the time by the telephone company to a\n\nparticular person or business if:\n\na. in the case of a person, circumstances, including\n\nself-identification, show the person answering to be\n\nthe one called, or\n\nb. in the case of a business, the call was made to a\n\nplace of business and the conversation related to\n\nbusiness reasonably transacted over the telephone;\n\n7. Evidence that a writing authorized by law to be recorded or\n\nfiled and in fact recorded or filed in a public office, or a\n\npurported public record, report, statement or data compilation, in\n\nany form, is from the public office where items of this nature are\n\nkept;\n\n8. Evidence that a document or data compilation, in any form:\n\na. is in such condition as to create no suspicion\n\nconcerning its authenticity,\n\nb. was in a place where it, if authentic, would likely\n\nbe, and\n\nc. has been in existence twenty (20) years or more at the\n\ntime it is offered;\n\n9. Evidence describing a process or system used to produce a\n\nresult and showing that the process or system produces an accurate\n\nresult; or\n\n10.
