Stat. tit. 12, § 12-556.1","heading":"Constituency of juries in civil actions - Trial without","body":"jury in certain cases.\n\n(a) Where the amount in controversy, as stated in the prayer for\n\nrelief or an affidavit of a party, or as found by the court where\n\nthe amount in controversy is questioned by the adverse party, does\n\nnot exceed One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00), the action\n\nshall be tried to the court without a jury.\n\n(b) In actions for forcible entry and detainer, or detention\n\nonly, of real property and collection of rents therefor a jury shall\n\nconsist of six (6) persons.\n\n(c) Except as provided in parts (a) and (b) of this section,\n\nactions for the recovery of money or specific real or personal\n\nproperty or both shall be tried to a jury of twelve (12) persons (1)\n\nif a party requests the recovery of money in the sum of at least Ten\n\nThousand Dollars ($10,000.00) or (2) if a party files an affidavit\n\nthat the action involves at least Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00)\n\nand the adverse party does not controvert the affidavit, or (3) if\n\nthe adverse party controverts such an affidavit, if one is filed,\n\nand the court finds that the action involves at least Ten Thousand\n\nDollars ($10,000.00); all other actions for the recovery of money or\n\nspecific real or personal property or both shall be tried to a jury\n\ncomposed of six (6) persons.","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e7d3c62af6ad23131139766e8b3ecfe2d5b7cf559d73992134910315d01c2e56","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-556","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-557"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
