Stat. tit. 12, § 12-577.1","heading":"Oklahoma Uniform Jury Instructions - Institution of","body":"Inasmuch as many judgments in actions tried by juries are set\n\naside and vacated on account of errors in instructions; and,\n\nwhereas, justice is withheld, delayed, and, in some cases, denied on\n\naccount of such erroneous instructions; and, the compilation and\n\nadoption of a body of uniform instructions in civil and criminal\n\ncases tried by juries in the courts of this state is necessary to\n\nthe equal and uniform administration of justice; and, whereas, the\n\njustices and judges of the appellate courts of this state are in the\n\nbest position to properly prescribe such instructions on this\n\nsubject to the Legislature; the Supreme Court of the State of\n\nOklahoma and the Court of Criminal Appeals of Oklahoma are\n\nrespectively requested and authorized to proceed to prescribe and\n\ninstitute uniform instructions to be given in jury trials of civil\n\nor criminal cases, such instructions to be called: \"Oklahoma\n\nUniform Jury Instructions.\" (OUJI).","path":["OK Code","Title 12"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7d2629730bb74b1ed411eda2e19419d92f3de51e7da6d9039c169ba0fa266ce8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-577","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12-12-577.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
