Except as otherwise provided in subsections B and C of this\n\nsection, a court of this state shall recognize a foreign-country\n\njudgment to which the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments\n\nRecognition Act applies.\n\nB. A court of this state may not recognize a foreign-country\n\njudgment if:\n\n1. The judgment was rendered under a judicial system that does\n\nnot provide impartial tribunals or procedures compatible with the\n\nrequirements of due process of law;\n\n2. The foreign court did not have personal jurisdiction over\n\nthe defendant; or\n\n3. The foreign court did not have jurisdiction over the subject\n\nmatter.\n\nC. A court of this state need not recognize a foreign-country\n\njudgment if:\n\n1. The defendant in the proceeding in the foreign court did not\n\nreceive notice of the proceeding in sufficient time to enable the\n\ndefendant to defend;\n\n2. The judgment was obtained by fraud that deprived the losing\n\nparty of an adequate opportunity to present its case;\n\n3. The judgment or the cause of action on which the judgment is\n\nbased is repugnant to the public policy of this state or of the\n\nUnited States;\n\n4. The judgment conflicts with another final and conclusive\n\njudgment;\n\n5. The proceeding in the foreign court was contrary to an\n\nagreement between the parties under which the dispute in question\n\nwas to be determined otherwise than by proceedings in that foreign\n\ncourt;\n\n6. In the case of jurisdiction based only on personal service,\n\nthe foreign court was a seriously inconvenient forum for the trial\n\nof the action;\n\n7. The judgment was rendered in circumstances that raise\n\nsubstantial doubt about the integrity of the rendering court with\n\nrespect to the judgment; or\n\n8. The specific proceeding in the foreign court leading to the\n\njudgment was not compatible with the requirements of due process of\n\nlaw.\n\nD.
