Stat. tit. 12, § 12-98","heading":"Absence or flight of defendant - Effect of other laws","body":"When a cause of action accrues against a person and that person\n\nis out of the state or has concealed himself, the period limited for\n\nthe commencement of the action shall not begin to run until he comes\n\ninto the state, or while he is concealed. If, after a cause of\n\naction accrues against a person and that person leaves the state or\n\nconceals himself, the time of his absence or concealment shall not\n\nbe computed as any part of the period within which the action must\n\nbe brought. Provided, however, that if any statute which extends\n\nthe exercise of personal jurisdiction of courts over a person or\n\ncorporation based upon service outside this state, or based upon\n\nsubstituted service upon an official of this or any other state or\n\nnation, or based upon service by publication permits the courts of\n\nthis state to acquire personal jurisdiction over the person, the\n\nperiod of his absence or concealment shall be computed as part of\n\nthe period within which the action must be brought.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 4660.
