Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-201","heading":"General effectiveness of security agreement","body":"GENERAL EFFECTIVENESS OF SECURITY AGREEMENT\n\n(a) Except as otherwise provided in this title, a security\n\nagreement is effective according to its terms between the parties,\n\nagainst purchasers of the collateral, and against creditors.\n\n(b) A transaction subject to this article is subject to any\n\napplicable rule of law which establishes a different rule for\n\nconsumers, and any other statute or regulation that regulates the\n\nrates, charges, agreements and practices for loans, credit sales or\n\nother extensions of credit.\n\n(c) In case of conflict between this article and a rule of law,\n\nstatute, or regulation described in subsection (b) of this section,\n\nthe rule of law, statute, or regulation controls. Failure to comply\n\nwith a statute or regulation described in subsection (b) of this\n\nsection has only the effect the statute or regulation specifies.\n\n(d) This article does not:\n\n(1) validate any rate, charge, agreement, or practice that\n\nviolates a rule of law, statute, or regulation described in\n\nsubsection (b) of this section; or\n\n(2) extend the application of the rule of law, statute, or\n\nregulation to a transaction not otherwise subject to it.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6a066f76147e747e7f37cf6c67900d6f95a5ffcb8a896fbd51a695036b2564dc","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-110","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
