Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-204","heading":"After-acquired property; future advances","body":"AFTER-ACQUIRED PROPERTY; FUTURE ADVANCES\n\n(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this\n\nsection, a security agreement may create or provide for a security\n\ninterest in after-acquired collateral.\n\n(b) Subject to subsection (d) of this section, a security\n\ninterest does not attach under a term constituting an after-acquired\n\nproperty clause to:\n\n(1) consumer goods, other than an accession when given as\n\nadditional security, unless the debtor acquires rights in them\n\nwithin ten (10) days after the secured party gives value; or\n\n(2) a commercial tort claim.\n\n(c) A security agreement may provide that collateral secures,\n\nor that accounts, chattel paper, payment intangibles, or promissory\n\nnotes are sold in connection with, future advances or other value,\n\nwhether or not the advances or value are given pursuant to\n\ncommitment.\n\n(d) Subsection (b) of this section does not prevent a security\n\ninterest from attaching:\n\n(1) to consumer goods as proceeds under subsection (a) of\n\nSection 1-9-315 of this title or commingled goods under subsection\n\n(c) of Section 1-9-336 of this title;\n\n(2) to a commercial tort claim as proceeds under subsection (a)\n\nof Section 1-9-315 of this title; or\n\n(3) under an after-acquired property clause to property that is\n\nproceeds of consumer goods or a commercial tort claim.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3b0bdb7fadf3418213e12fe3b5e906ccebaac7dae06aaf6aa31efb4832147607","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-203","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
