Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-301","heading":"Law governing perfection and priority of security","body":"interests.\n\nLAW GOVERNING PERFECTION AND\n\nPRIORITY OF SECURITY INTERESTS\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in Sections 1-9-303 through 1-9-\n\n306B of this title, the following rules determine the law governing\n\nperfection, the effect of perfection or nonperfection, and the\n\npriority of a security interest in collateral:\n\n(1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, while a\n\ndebtor is located in a jurisdiction, the local law of that\n\njurisdiction governs perfection, the effect of perfection or\n\nnonperfection, and the priority of a security interest in\n\ncollateral.\n\n(2) While collateral is located in a jurisdiction, the local\n\nlaw of that jurisdiction governs perfection, the effect of\n\nperfection or nonperfection, and the priority of a possessory\n\nsecurity interest in that collateral.\n\n(3) Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (4) of this\n\nsection, while negotiable tangible documents, goods, instruments, or\n\nmoney are located in a jurisdiction, the local law of that\n\njurisdiction governs:\n\n(A) perfection of a security interest in the goods by\n\nfiling a fixture filing;\n\n(B) perfection of a security interest in timber to be cut;\n\nand\n\n(C) the effect of perfection or nonperfection and the\n\npriority of a nonpossessory security interest in the\n\ncollateral.\n\n(4) The local law of the jurisdiction in which the wellhead or\n\nminehead is located governs perfection, the effect of perfection or\n\nnonperfection, and the priority of a security interest in as-\n\nextracted collateral.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6301cd376909182c55ef6f50477d56257abcc696b29d122c432c0665ee03112b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-210","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
