Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-304","heading":"Law governing perfection and priority of security","body":"interests in deposit accounts.\n\nLAW GOVERNING PERFECTION AND PRIORITY OF\n\nSECURITY INTERESTS IN DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS\n\n(a) The local law of a bank's jurisdiction governs perfection,\n\nthe effect of perfection or nonperfection, and the priority of a\n\nsecurity interest in a deposit account maintained with that bank\n\neven if the transaction does not bear any relation to the bank's\n\njurisdiction.\n\n(b) The following rules determine a bank's jurisdiction for\n\npurposes of this part:\n\n(1) If an agreement between the bank and its customer governing\n\nthe deposit account expressly provides that a particular\n\njurisdiction is the bank's jurisdiction for purposes of this part,\n\nthis article, or the Uniform Commercial Code, that jurisdiction is\n\nthe bank's jurisdiction.\n\n(2) If paragraph (1) of this subsection does not apply and an\n\nagreement between the bank and its customer governing the deposit\n\naccount expressly provides that the agreement is governed by the law\n\nof a particular jurisdiction, that jurisdiction is the bank's\n\njurisdiction.\n\n(3) If neither paragraph (1) nor paragraph (2) of this\n\nsubsection applies and an agreement between the bank and its\n\ncustomer governing the deposit account expressly provides that the\n\ndeposit account is maintained at an office in a particular\n\njurisdiction, that jurisdiction is the bank's jurisdiction.\n\n(4) If none of the preceding paragraphs of this subsection\n\napplies, the bank's jurisdiction is the jurisdiction in which the\n\noffice identified in an account statement as the office serving the\n\ncustomer's account is located.\n\n(5) If none of the preceding paragraphs applies, the bank's\n\njurisdiction is the jurisdiction in which the chief executive office\n\nof the bank is located.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d8e669be1244bef3622008757256ea14be4029df9df3d44b7e77f8437863841e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-303","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
