Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-314","heading":"Perfection by control","body":"PERFECTION BY CONTROL\n\n(a) A security interest in controllable accounts, controllable\n\nelectronic records, controllable payment intangibles, deposit\n\naccounts, electronic documents, investment property, or letter-of-\n\ncredit rights may be perfected by control of the collateral under\n\nSection 7-106, 1-9-104, 1-9-106, 1-9-107, or 1-9-107A of this title.\n\n(b) A security interest in controllable accounts, controllable\n\nelectronic records, controllable payment intangibles, deposit\n\naccounts, electronic documents, or letter-of-credit rights is\n\nperfected by control under Section 1-9-104, 1-9-107, or 1-9-107A of\n\nthis title not earlier than the time the secured party obtains\n\ncontrol and remains perfected by control only while the secured\n\nparty retains control.\n\n(c) A security interest in investment property is perfected by\n\ncontrol under Section 1-9-106 of this title not earlier than the\n\ntime the secured party obtains control and remains perfected by\n\ncontrol until:\n\n(1) the secured party does not have control; and\n\n(2) one of the following occurs:\n\n(A) if the collateral is a certificated security, the\n\ndebtor has or acquires possession of the security\n\ncertificate;\n\n(B) if the collateral is an uncertificated security, the\n\nissuer has registered or registers the debtor as the\n\nregistered owner; or\n\n(C) if the collateral is a security entitlement, the\n\ndebtor is or becomes the entitlement holder.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b84654a476b841c92c327654090a9c17da0e132d76a9d50a8a65e8f86886faac","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-313","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-314a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
