Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-320","heading":"Buyer of goods","body":"BUYER OF GOODS\n\n(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (e) of this\n\nsection, a buyer in ordinary course of business, other than a person\n\nbuying farm products from a person engaged in farming operations,\n\ntakes free of a security interest created by the buyer’s seller,\n\neven if the security interest is perfected and the buyer knows of\n\nits existence.\n\n(b) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (e) of this\n\nsection, a buyer of goods from a person who used or bought the goods\n\nfor use primarily for personal, family, or household purposes takes\n\nfree of a security interest, even if perfected, if the buyer buys:\n\n(1) without knowledge of the security interest;\n\n(2) for value;\n\n(3) primarily for the buyer’s personal, family, or household\n\npurposes; and\n\n(4) before the filing of a financing statement covering the\n\ngoods.\n\n(c) To the extent that it affects the priority of a security\n\ninterest over a buyer of goods under subsection (b) of this section,\n\nthe period of effectiveness of a filing made in the jurisdiction in\n\nwhich the seller is located is governed by subsections (a) and (b)\n\nof Section 1-9-316 of this title.\n\n(d) A buyer in ordinary course of business buying oil, gas, or\n\nother minerals at the wellhead or minehead or after extraction takes\n\nfree of an interest arising out of an encumbrance.\n\n(e) Subsections (a) and (b) of this section do not affect a\n\nsecurity interest in goods in the possession of the secured party\n\nunder Section 1-9-313 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6bb9f7632a7fcff079b988f44ac3a9960717a61d48fa1ed2200e94852a42d93b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-319","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-320.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
