Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-506","heading":"Effect of errors or omissions","body":"EFFECT OF ERRORS OR OMISSIONS\n\n(a) A financing statement substantially satisfying the\n\nrequirements of this part is effective, even if it has minor errors\n\nor omissions, unless the errors or omissions make the financing\n\nstatement seriously misleading.\n\n(b) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (c) of this\n\nsection, a financing statement that fails sufficiently to provide\n\nthe name of the debtor in accordance with subsection (a) of Section\n\n1-9-503 of this title is seriously misleading.\n\n(c) If a search of the records of the filing office under the\n\ndebtor’s correct name, using the filing office’s standard search\n\nlogic, if any, would disclose a financing statement that fails\n\nsufficiently to provide the name of the debtor in accordance with\n\nsubsection (a) of Section 1-9-503 of this title, the name provided\n\ndoes not make the financing statement seriously misleading.\n\n(d) For purposes of subsection (b) of Section 1-9-508 of this\n\ntitle, the “debtor’s correct name” in subsection (c) of this section\n\nmeans the correct name of the new debtor.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"51252a277dcbf987dd4c1d70193f2785e0d59f171747b80fcd95a9f2e3dcc721","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-505","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
