Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-509","heading":"Persons entitled to file a record","body":"PERSONS ENTITLED TO FILE A RECORD\n\n(a) A person may file an initial financing statement, amendment\n\nthat adds collateral covered by a financing statement, or amendment\n\nthat adds a debtor to a financing statement only if:\n\n(1) the debtor authorizes the filing in a signed record; or\n\n(2) the person holds an agricultural lien that has become\n\neffective at the time of filing and the financing statement covers\n\nonly collateral in which the person holds an agricultural lien.\n\n(b) By signing or becoming bound as a debtor by a security\n\nagreement, a debtor or new debtor authorizes the filing of an\n\ninitial financing statement, and an amendment, covering:\n\n(1) the collateral described in the security agreement; and\n\n(2) property that becomes collateral under paragraph (2) of\n\nsubsection (a) of Section 1-9-315 of this title, whether or not the\n\nsecurity agreement expressly covers proceeds.\n\n(c) By acquiring collateral in which a security interest or\n\nagricultural lien continues under paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of\n\nSection 1-9-315 of this title, a debtor authorizes the filing of an\n\ninitial financing statement, and an amendment, covering the\n\ncollateral and property that becomes collateral under paragraph (2)\n\nof subsection (a) of Section 1-9-315 of this title.\n\n(d) A person may file an amendment other than an amendment that\n\nadds collateral covered by a financing statement or an amendment\n\nthat adds a debtor to a financing statement only if:\n\n(1) the secured party of record authorizes the filing; or\n\n(2) the amendment is a termination statement for a financing\n\nstatement for which the secured party of record has failed to file\n\nor send a termination statement as required by subsection (a) or (c)\n\nof Section 1-9-513 of this title, the debtor authorizes the filing,\n\nand the termination statement indicates that the debtor authorized\n\nit to be filed.\n\n(e) If there is more than one secured party of record for a\n\nfinancing statement, each secured party of record may authorize the\n\nfiling of an amendment under subsection (d) of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7e0be8a04dd3dd29b14fdbec34323534539cbc6893cfbfe4e0b6e88fee28963d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-508","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
