Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-512","heading":"Amendment of financing statement","body":"AMENDMENT OF FINANCING STATEMENT\n\n(a) Subject to Section 1-9-509 of this title, a person may add\n\nor delete collateral covered by, continue or terminate the\n\neffectiveness of, or, subject to subsection (e) of this section,\n\notherwise amend the information provided in, a financing statement\n\nby filing an amendment that:\n\n(1) identifies, by its file number, the initial financing\n\nstatement to which the amendment relates; and\n\n(2) if the amendment relates to an initial financing statement\n\nfiled or recorded in a filing office described in paragraph (1) of\n\nsubsection (a) of Section 1-9-501 of this title, provides the file\n\nnumber and date that the initial financing statement was filed or\n\nrecorded, and the information specified in subsection (b) of Section\n\n1-9-502 of this title.\n\n(b) Except as otherwise provided in Section 1-9-515 of this\n\ntitle, the filing of an amendment does not extend the period of\n\neffectiveness of the financing statement.\n\n(c) A financing statement that is amended by an amendment that\n\nadds collateral is effective as to the added collateral only from\n\nthe date of the filing of the amendment.\n\n(d) A financing statement that is amended by an amendment that\n\nadds a debtor is effective as to the added debtor only from the date\n\nof the filing of the amendment.\n\n(e) An amendment is ineffective to the extent it:\n\n(1) purports to delete all debtors and fails to provide the\n\nname of a debtor to be covered by the financing statement; or\n\n(2) purports to delete all secured parties of record and fails\n\nto provide the name of a new secured party of record.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"800026037051ce4bec815dd6cf4774579de11ed542370c39f94f74387de2fcc1","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-511","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-513"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
