Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-518","heading":"Claim concerning inaccurate or wrongfully filed","body":"record.\n\nCLAIM CONCERNING INACCURATE OR WRONGFULLY FILED RECORD\n\n(a) A person may file in the filing office an information\n\nstatement with respect to a record indexed there under the person's\n\nname if the person believes that the record is inaccurate or was\n\nwrongfully filed.\n\n(b) An information statement under subsection (a) of this\n\nsection must:\n\n(1) identify the record to which it relates by:\n\n(A) the file number of the initial financing statement to\n\nwhich the record relates; and\n\n(B) if the information statement relates to a record filed\n\nor recorded in a filing office described in paragraph\n\n(1) of subsection (a) of Section 1-9-501 of this\n\ntitle, the file number, the date that the initial\n\nfinancing statement was filed or recorded, and the\n\ninformation specified in subsection (b) of Section 1-\n\n9-502 of this title;\n\n(2) indicate that it is an information statement; and\n\n(3) provide the basis for the person's belief that the record\n\nis inaccurate and indicate the manner in which the person believes\n\nthe record should be amended to cure any inaccuracy or provide the\n\nbasis for the person's belief that the record was wrongfully filed.\n\n(c) A person may file in the filing office an information\n\nstatement with respect to a record filed there if the person is a\n\nsecured party of record with respect to the financing statement to\n\nwhich the record relates and believes that the person that filed the\n\nrecord was not entitled to do so under subsection (d) of Section 1-\n\n9-509 of this title.\n\n(d) An information statement under subsection (c) of this\n\nsection must:\n\n(1) identify the record to which it relates by:\n\n(A) the file number assigned to the initial financing\n\nstatement to which the record relates; and\n\n(B) if the statement relates to a record filed or recorded\n\nin a filing office described in paragraph (1) of\n\nsubsection (a) of Section 1-9-501 of this title, the\n\ndate that the initial financing statement was filed or\n\nrecorded and the information specified in subsection\n\n(b) of Section 1-9-502 of this title;\n\n(2) indicate that it is an information statement; and\n\n(3) provide the basis for the person's belief that the person\n\nthat filed the record was not entitled to do so under subsection (d)\n\nof Section 1-9-509 of this title.\n\n(e) The filing of an information statement does not affect the\n\neffectiveness of an initial financing statement or other filed\n\nrecord.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c8a3a79d9d8dcf92dbf11a7dfb40d6f93df554acfe32a06da2afaa8a2667f914","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-517","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-519"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
