Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-522","heading":"Maintenance and destruction of records","body":"MAINTENANCE AND DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS\n\n(a) The filing office shall maintain a record of the\n\ninformation provided in a filed financing statement for at least one\n\nyear after the effectiveness of the financing statement has lapsed\n\nunder Section 1-9-515 of this title with respect to all secured\n\nparties of record. The record must be retrievable by using the name\n\nof the debtor and:\n\n(1) if the record was filed or recorded in the filing office\n\ndescribed in paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of Section 1-9-501 of\n\nthis title, by using the file number of the initial financing\n\nstatement to which the record relates and the date and that the\n\nrecord was filed or recorded, and by the legal description of the\n\nreal estate adequate for the purposes of indexing in the tract\n\nindexes of the county where the real estate is situated; or\n\n(2) if the record was filed in the filing office described in\n\nparagraph (2) of subsection (a) of Section 1-9-501 of this title, by\n\nusing the file number of the initial financing statement to which\n\nthe record relates.\n\n(b) Except to the extent that a statute governing disposition\n\nof public records provides otherwise, the filing office immediately\n\nmay destroy any written record evidencing a financing statement.\n\nHowever, if the filing office destroys a written record, it shall\n\nmaintain another record of the financing statement which complies\n\nwith subsection (a) of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"55b7b30c993fdbf2d24da07f080294504ca7462d01c56d5f88364330ac27fa64","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-521","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-523"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
