Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-706","heading":"When initial financing statement suffices to continue","body":"effectivness of financing statement.\n\nWHEN INITIAL FINANCING STATEMENT SUFFICES\n\nTO CONTINUE EFFECTIVNESS OF FINANCING STATEMENT\n\n(a) The filing of an initial financing statement in the office\n\nspecified in Section 1-9-501 of this title continues the\n\neffectiveness of a financing statement filed before this act takes\n\neffect if:\n\n(1) the filing of an initial financing statement in that office\n\nwould be effective to perfect a security interest under this act;\n\n(2) the pre-effective-date financing statement was filed in an\n\noffice in another state or another office in this state; and\n\n(3) the initial financing statement satisfies subsection (c) of\n\nthis section.\n\n(b) The filing of an initial financing statement under\n\nsubsection (a) of this section continues the effectiveness of the\n\npre-effective-date financing statement:\n\n(1) if the initial financing statement is filed before this act\n\ntakes effect, for the period provided in former Section 9-403 of\n\nthis title with respect to a financing statement; and\n\n(2) if the initial financing statement is filed after this act\n\ntakes effect, for the period provided in Section 1-9-515 of this\n\ntitle with respect to an initial financing statement.\n\n(c) To be effective for purposes of subsection (a) of this\n\nsection, an initial financing statement must:\n\n(1) satisfy the requirements of Part 5 of this article for an\n\ninitial financing statement;\n\n(2) identify the pre-effective-date financing statement by\n\nindicating the office in which the financing statement was filed and\n\nproviding the dates of filing and file numbers, if any, of the\n\nfinancing statement and of the most recent continuation statement\n\nfiled with respect to the financing statement; and\n\n(3) indicate that the pre-effective-date financing statement\n\nremains effective.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"11bffbd11de07444c41fa3437f5533aee37c0f4e5eeb30705b7b72d1979e7339","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-705","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-707"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
