Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-1-9-707","heading":"Persons entitled to file initial financing statement","body":"PERSONS ENTITLED TO FILE INITIAL FINANCING STATEMENT\n\n(a) In this section, \"pre-effective-date financing statement\"\n\nmeans a financing statement filed before this act takes effect.\n\n(b) After this act takes effect, a person may add or delete\n\ncollateral covered by, continue or terminate the effectiveness of,\n\nor otherwise amend the information provided in, a pre-effective-date\n\nfinancing statement only in accordance with the law of the\n\njurisdiction governing perfection as provided in Part 3 of this\n\narticle of this title. However, the effectiveness of a pre-\n\neffective-date financing statement also may be terminated in\n\naccordance with the law of the jurisdiction in which the financing\n\nstatement is filed.\n\n(c) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (d) of this\n\nsection, if the law of this state governs perfection of a security\n\ninterest, the information in a pre-effective-date financing\n\nstatement may be amended after this act takes effect only if:\n\n(1) the pre-effective-date financing statement and an amendment\n\nare filed in the office specified in Section 1-9-501 of this title;\n\n(2) an amendment is filed in the office specified in Section 1-\n\n9-501 of this title concurrently with, or after the filing in that\n\noffice of, an initial financing statement that satisfies subsection\n\n(c) of Section 1-9-706 of this title; or\n\n(3) an initial financing statement that provides the\n\ninformation as amended and satisfies subsection (c) of Section 1-9-\n\n706 of this title is filed in the office specified in Section 1-9-\n\n501 of this title.\n\n(d) If the law of this state governs perfection of a security\n\ninterest, the effectiveness of a pre-effective-date financing\n\nstatement may be continued only under subsections (d) and (f) of\n\nSection 1-9-705 or Section 1-9-706 of this title.\n\n(e) Whether or not the law of this state governs perfection of\n\na security interest, the effectiveness of a pre-effective-date\n\nfinancing statement filed in this state may be terminated after this\n\nact takes effect by filing a termination statement in the office in\n\nwhich the pre-effective-date financing statement is filed, unless an\n\ninitial financing statement that satisfies subsection (c) of Section\n\n1-9-706 of this title has been filed in the office specified by the\n\nlaw of the jurisdiction governing perfection as provided in Part 3\n\nof this article of this title as the office in which to file a\n\nfinancing statement.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6c4a610f4245d9d6120f4d59025f81a93e84984bc87d9fbb4b6ff14a4d86a9b4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-706","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-1-9-708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
