Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-11-105","heading":"Required Refilings","body":"Required Refilings. - (1) If a security interest is perfected or\n\nhas priority when this act takes effect as to all persons or as to\n\ncertain persons without any filing or recording, and if the filing\n\nof a financing statement would be required for the perfection or\n\npriority of the security interest against those persons under this\n\nact, the perfection and priority rights of the security interest\n\ncontinue until three (3) years after the effective date of this act.\n\nThe perfection will then lapse unless a financing statement is filed\n\nas provided in subsection (4) of this section or unless the security\n\ninterest is perfected otherwise than by filing.\n\n(2) If a security interest is perfected when this act takes\n\neffect under a law other than the U.C.C. prior to this act which\n\nrequires no further filing, refiling or recording to continue its\n\nperfection, perfection continues until and will lapse three (3)\n\nyears after this act takes effect, unless a financing statement is\n\nfiled as provided in subsection (4) of this section or unless the\n\nsecurity interest is perfected otherwise than by filing, or unless\n\nunder subsection (3) of Section 9-302, the other law continues to\n\ngovern filing.\n\n(3) If a security interest is perfected by a filing, refiling or\n\nrecording under a law repealed by this act which required further\n\nfiling, refiling or recording to continue its perfection, perfection\n\ncontinues and will lapse on the date provided by the law so repealed\n\nfor such further filing, refiling or recording unless a financing\n\nstatement is filed as provided in subsection (4) of this section or\n\nunless the security interest is perfected otherwise than by filing.\n\n(4) A financing statement may be filed within six (6) months\n\nbefore the perfection of a security interest would otherwise lapse.\n\nAny such financing statement may be signed by either the debtor or\n\nthe secured party. It must identify the security agreement,\n\nstatement or notice, however denominated in any statute or other law\n\nrepealed or modified by this act, state the office where and the\n\ndate when the last filing, refiling or recording, if any, was made\n\nwith respect thereto, and the filing number, if any, or book and\n\npage, if any, of recording and further state that the security\n\nagreement, statement or notice, however denominated in another\n\nfiling office under the U.C.C. prior to this act, or under any\n\nstatute or other law repealed or modified by this act is still\n\neffective. Section 9-401 and Section 7 of this act determine the\n\nproper place to file such a financing statement.
