Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-12-102","heading":"Definitions","body":"DEFINITIONS\n\n(a) In this article, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(1) \"Controllable electronic record\" means a record stored in\n\nan electronic medium that can be subjected to control under Section\n\n12-105 of this title. The term does not include a controllable\n\naccount, a controllable payment intangible, a deposit account, an\n\nelectronic copy of a record evidencing chattel paper, an electronic\n\ndocument of title, investment property, a transferable record, or an\n\nelectronic record that is a medium of exchange currently authorized\n\nor adopted by a domestic or foreign government and is not a medium\n\nof exchange that was recorded and transferable in a system that\n\nexisted and operated for the medium of exchange before the medium of\n\nexchange was authorized or adopted by the government.\n\n(2) \"Qualifying purchaser\" means a purchaser of a controllable\n\nelectronic record or an interest in a controllable electronic record\n\nthat obtains control of the controllable electronic record for\n\nvalue, in good faith, and without notice of a claim of a property\n\nright in the controllable electronic record.\n\n(3) \"Transferable record\" has the meaning provided for that\n\nterm in:\n\n(A) Section 201(a)(1) of the Electronic Signatures in\n\nGlobal and National Commerce Act, 15 U.S.C., Section\n\n7021(a)(1); or\n\n(B) Subsection (a) of Section 15-116 of Title 12A of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes.\n\n(4) \"Value\" has the same meaning as provided in subsection (a)\n\nof Section 3-303 of this title, as if references in that subsection\n\nto an \"instrument\" were references to a controllable account,\n\ncontrollable electronic record, or controllable payment intangible.\n\n(b) The definitions in Article 9 of this title of \"account\n\ndebtor\", \"controllable account\", \"controllable payment intangible\",\n\n\"chattel paper\", \"deposit account\", and \"investment property\" apply\n\nto this article.\n\n(c) Article 1 of this title contains general definitions and\n\nprinciples of construction and interpretation applicable throughout\n\nthis article.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7ca195d47413fd47ba5c715d0b6e84726a832f0d555108dda973880b2c79a182","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-12-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-12-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
