Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-15-110","heading":"Effect of change or error","body":"EFFECT OF CHANGE OR ERROR\n\nIf a change or error in an electronic record occurs in a\n\ntransmission between parties to a transaction, the following rules\n\napply:\n\n(1) If the parties have agreed to use a security procedure to\n\ndetect changes or errors and one party has conformed to the\n\nprocedure, but the other party has not, and the nonconforming party\n\nwould have detected the change or error had that party also\n\nconformed, the conforming party may avoid the effect of the changed\n\nor erroneous electronic record.\n\n(2) In an automated transaction involving an individual, the\n\nindividual may avoid the effect of an electronic record that\n\nresulted from an error made by the individual in dealing with the\n\nelectronic agent of another person if the electronic agent did not\n\nprovide an opportunity for the prevention or correction of the error\n\nand, at the time the individual learns of the error, the individual:\n\n(A) promptly notifies the other person of the error and that\n\nthe individual did not intend to be bound by the electronic record\n\nreceived by the other person;\n\n(B) takes reasonable steps, including steps that conform to the\n\nother person’s reasonable instructions, to return to the other\n\nperson or, if instructed by the other person, to destroy the\n\nconsideration received, if any, as a result of the erroneous\n\nelectronic record; and\n\n(C) has not used or received any benefit or value from the\n\nconsideration, if any, received from the other person.\n\n(3) If neither paragraph (1) nor paragraph (2) of this section\n\napplies, the change or error has the effect provided by other law,\n\nincluding the law of mistake, and the parties’ contract, if any.\n\n(4) Paragraphs (2) and (3) of this section may not be varied by\n\nagreement.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"452d8a136aa1a5449ddac5788268bfc19dec90edac42d7b07889bb283400a551","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-15-109","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-15-111"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
