Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-2-104","heading":"Definitions: \"Merchant\"; \"Between merchants\";","body":"\"Financing agency\".\n\nDefinitions: \"Merchant\"; \"Between Merchants\"; \"Financing\n\nAgency\".\n\n(1) \"Merchant\" means a person who deals in goods of the kind or\n\notherwise by his occupation holds himself out as having knowledge or\n\nskill peculiar to the practices or goods involved in the transaction\n\nor to whom such knowledge or skill may be attributed by his\n\nemployment of an agent or broker or other intermediary who by his\n\noccupation holds himself out as having such knowledge or skill.\n\n(2) \"Financing agency\" means a bank, finance company or other\n\nperson who in the ordinary course of business makes advances against\n\ngoods or documents of title or who by arrangement with either the\n\nseller or the buyer intervenes in ordinary course to make or collect\n\npayment due or claimed under the contract for sale, as by purchasing\n\nor paying the seller's draft or making advances against it or by\n\nmerely taking it for collection whether or not documents of title\n\naccompany or are associated with the draft. \"Financing agency\"\n\nincludes also a bank or other person who similarly intervenes\n\nbetween persons who are in the position of seller and buyer in\n\nrespect to the goods (Section 2-707).\n\n(3) \"Between merchants\" means in any transaction with respect\n\nto which both parties are chargeable with the knowledge or skill of\n\nmerchants.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"92974b9b1623846a6c9295b29baff541879820167202ec614e3a12f80c0c8f14","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-2-103","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-2-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
