Terms","body":"(1) The term C.I.F. means that the price includes in a lump sum\n\nthe cost of the goods and the insurance and freight to the named\n\ndestination. The term C. and F. or C.F. means that the price so\n\nincludes cost and freight to the named destination.\n\n(2) Unless otherwise agreed and even though used only in\n\nconnection with the stated price and destination, the term C.I.F.\n\ndestination or its equivalent requires the seller at his own expense\n\nand risk to\n\n(a) put the goods into the possession of a carrier at the\n\nport for shipment and obtain a negotiable bill or bills of lading\n\ncovering the entire transportation to the named destination; and\n\n(b) load the goods and obtain a receipt from the carrier\n\n(which may be contained in the bill of lading) showing that the\n\nfreight has been paid or provided for; and\n\n(c) obtain a policy or certificate of insurance, including\n\nany war risk insurance, of a kind and on terms then current at the\n\nport of shipment in the usual amount, in the currency of the\n\ncontract, shown to cover the same goods covered by the bill of\n\nlading and providing for payment of loss to the order of the buyer\n\nor for the account of whom it may concern; but the seller may add to\n\nthe price the amount of the premium for any such war risk insurance;\n\nand\n\n(d) prepare an invoice of the goods and procure any other\n\ndocuments required to effect shipment or to comply with the\n\ncontract; and\n\n(e) forward and tender with commercial promptness all the\n\ndocuments in due form and with any endorsement necessary to perfect\n\nthe buyer's rights.\n\n(3) Unless otherwise agreed the term C. and F. or its\n\nequivalent has the same effect and imposes upon the seller the same\n\nobligations and risks as a C.I.F. term except the obligation as to\n\ninsurance.\n\n(4) Under the term C.I.F. or C. and F. unless otherwise agreed\n\nthe buyer must make payment against tender of the required documents\n\nand the seller may not tender nor the buyer demand delivery of the\n\ngoods in substitution for the documents.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e63ee63ec649a9bef5a9ed043dbc52c460ddd92e848fcd1f03122ab29aa142ba","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-2-319","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-2-321"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
