Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-3-108","heading":"Payable on Demand or at Definite Time","body":"PAYABLE ON DEMAND OR AT DEFINITE TIME\n\n(a) A promise or order is \"payable on demand\" if it (i) states\n\nthat it is payable on demand or at sight, or otherwise indicates\n\nthat it is payable at the will of the holder, or (ii) does not state\n\nany time of payment.\n\n(b) A promise or order is \"payable at a definite time\" if it is\n\npayable on elapse of a definite period of time after sight or\n\nacceptance or at a fixed date or dates or at a time or times readily\n\nascertainable at the time the promise or order is issued, subject to\n\nrights of (i) prepayment, (ii) acceleration, (iii) extension at the\n\noption of the holder, or (iv) extension to a further definite time\n\nat the option of the maker or acceptor or automatically upon or\n\nafter a specified act or event.\n\n(c) If an instrument, payable at a fixed date, is also payable\n\nupon demand made before the fixed date, the instrument is payable on\n\ndemand until the fixed date and, if demand for payment is not made\n\nbefore that date, becomes payable at a definite time on the fixed\n\ndate.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d1fddb3d4a92df5112ee44e42e5cea56dcbfa2b10e7400aa24397e790fecdf4c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-3-107","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-3-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
