Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-4-109","heading":"Delays","body":"DELAYS\n\n(a) Unless otherwise instructed, a collecting bank in a good\n\nfaith effort to secure payment of a specific item drawn on a payor\n\nother than a bank, and with or without the approval of any person\n\ninvolved, may waive, modify, or extend time limits imposed or\n\npermitted by this article for a period not exceeding two (2)\n\nadditional banking days without discharge of drawers or indorsers or\n\nliability to its transferor or a prior party.\n\n(b) Delay by a collecting bank or payor bank beyond time limits\n\nprescribed or permitted by this article or by instructions is\n\nexcused if (i) the delay is caused by interruption of communication\n\nor computer facilities, suspension of payments by another bank, war,\n\nemergency conditions, failure of equipment, or other circumstances\n\nbeyond the control of the bank, and (ii) the bank exercises such\n\ndiligence as the circumstances require.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"06a2aa88ce449472ef35d344412579d9e40b918395499e19b8c397a291f8f140","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-108","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
