Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-4-209","heading":"Encoding and Retention Warranties","body":"ENCODING AND RETENTION WARRANTIES\n\n(a) A person who encodes information on or with respect to an\n\nitem after issue warrants to any subsequent collecting bank and to\n\nthe payor bank or other payor that the information is correctly\n\nencoded. If the customer of a depositary bank encodes, that bank\n\nalso makes the warranty.\n\n(b) A person who undertakes to retain an item pursuant to an\n\nagreement for electronic presentment warrants to any subsequent\n\ncollecting bank and to the payor bank or other payor that retention\n\nand presentment of the item comply with the agreement.
