Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-4-212","heading":"Presentment by Notice of Item Not Payable By, Through,","body":"or At Bank; Liability of Drawer or Indorser.\n\nPRESENTMENT BY NOTICE OF ITEM NOT PAYABLE BY, THROUGH, OR AT BANK;\n\nLIABILITY OF DRAWER OR INDORSER\n\n(a) Unless otherwise instructed, a collecting bank may present\n\nan item not payable by, through, or at a bank by sending to the\n\nparty to accept or pay a record providing notice that the bank holds\n\nthe item for acceptance or payment. The notice must be sent in time\n\nto be received on or before the day when presentment is due and the\n\nbank must meet any requirement of the party to accept or pay under\n\nSection 3-501 of this title by the close of the bank's next banking\n\nday after it knows of the requirement.\n\n(b) If presentment is made by notice and payment, acceptance,\n\nor request for compliance with a requirement under Section 3-501 of\n\nthis title is not received by the close of business on the day after\n\nmaturity or, in the case of demand items, by the close of business\n\non the third banking day after notice was sent, the presenting bank\n\nmay treat the item as dishonored and charge any drawer or indorser\n\nby sending it notice of the facts.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3768b59ef48a2400462372d6826ffc717db05cd6ad071ec62c3d6cd6e0483d54","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-211","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-213"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
