Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-4-215","heading":"Final Payment of Item by Payor Bank; When Provisional","body":"Debits and Credits Become Final; When Certain Credits Become\n\nAvailable for Withdrawal.\n\nFINAL PAYMENT OF ITEM BY PAYOR BANK; WHEN\n\nPROVISIONAL DEBITS AND CREDITS BECOME FINAL;\n\nWHEN CERTAIN CREDITS BECOME AVAILABLE FOR WITHDRAWAL\n\n(a) An item is finally paid by a payor bank when the bank has\n\nfirst done any of the following:\n\n(1) Paid the item in cash;\n\n(2) Settled for the item without having a right to revoke\n\nthe settlement under statute, clearing-house rule, or\n\nagreement; or\n\n(3) Made a provisional settlement for the item and failed\n\nto revoke the settlement in the time and manner\n\npermitted by statute, clearing-house rule, or\n\nagreement.\n\n(b) If provisional settlement for an item does not become\n\nfinal, the item is not finally paid.\n\n(c) If provisional settlement for an item between the\n\npresenting and payor banks is made through a clearing-house or by\n\ndebits or credits in an account between them, then to the extent\n\nthat provisional debits or credits for the item are entered in\n\naccounts between the presenting and payor banks or between the\n\npresenting and successive prior collecting banks seriatim, they\n\nbecome final upon final payment of the items by the payor bank.\n\n(d) If a collecting bank receives a settlement for an item\n\nwhich is or becomes final, the bank is accountable to its customer\n\nfor the amount of the item and any provisional credit given for the\n\nitem in an account with its customer becomes final.\n\n(e) Subject to (i) applicable law stating a time for\n\navailability of funds and (ii) any right of the bank to apply the\n\ncredit to an obligation of the customer, credit given by a bank for\n\nan item in a customer's account becomes available for withdrawal as\n\nof right:\n\n(1) If the bank has received a provisional settlement for\n\nthe item, when the settlement becomes final and the\n\nbank has had a reasonable time to receive return of\n\nthe item and the item has not been received within\n\nthat time; or\n\n(2) If the bank is both the depositary bank and the payor\n\nbank, and the item is finally paid, at the opening of\n\nthe bank's second banking day following receipt of the\n\nitem.\n\n(f) Subject to applicable law stating a time for availability\n\nof funds and any right of a bank to apply a deposit to an obligation\n\nof the depositor, a deposit of money becomes available for\n\nwithdrawal as of right at the opening of the bank's next banking day\n\nafter receipt of the deposit.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"052c32f4f7e94df5d3e9a036c6185418a0edc909e15cc7c73a957f010e16b3a2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-214","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-4-216"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
