Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-7-206","heading":"Termination of storage at warehouse's option","body":"Termination of Storage at Warehouse’s Option.\n\n(a) A warehouse, by giving notice to the person on whose\n\naccount the goods are held and any other person known to claim an\n\ninterest in the goods, may require payment of any charges and\n\nremoval of the goods from the warehouse at the termination of the\n\nperiod of storage fixed by the document of title, or, if a period is\n\nnot fixed, within a stated period not less than thirty (30) days\n\nafter the warehouse gives notice. If the goods are not removed\n\nbefore the date specified in the notice, the warehouse may sell them\n\npursuant to Section 7-210 of this title.\n\n(b) If a warehouse in good faith believes that goods are about\n\nto deteriorate or decline in value to less than the amount of its\n\nlien within the time provided in subsection (a) of this section and\n\nSection 7-210 of this title, the warehouse may specify in the notice\n\ngiven under subsection (a) of this section any reasonable shorter\n\ntime for removal of the goods and, if the goods are not removed, may\n\nsell them at public sale held not less than one (1) week after a\n\nsingle advertisement or posting.\n\n(c) If, as a result of a quality or condition of the goods of\n\nwhich the warehouse did not have notice at the time of deposit, the\n\ngoods are a hazard to other property, the warehouse facilities, or\n\nother persons, the warehouse may sell the goods at public or private\n\nsale without advertisement or posting on reasonable notification to\n\nall persons known to claim an interest in the goods. If the\n\nwarehouse, after a reasonable effort, is unable to sell the goods,\n\nit may dispose of them in any lawful manner and does not incur\n\nliability by reason of that disposition.\n\n(d) A warehouse shall deliver the goods to any person entitled\n\nto them under this article upon due demand made at any time before\n\nsale or other disposition under this section.\n\n(e) A warehouse may satisfy its lien from the proceeds of any\n\nsale or disposition under this section but shall hold the balance\n\nfor delivery on the demand of any person to which the warehouse\n\nwould have been bound to deliver the goods.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e74b33d5ea01ae53cfc5e3749196f08fdd124145440ab4d4c4bbe25153f6f2b6","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-7-205","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-7-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
