Stat. tit. 12A, § 12A-7-303","heading":"Diversion – Reconsignment - Change of instructions","body":"Diversion; Reconsignment; Change of Instructions.\n\n(a) Unless the bill of lading otherwise provides, a carrier may\n\ndeliver the goods to a person or destination other than that stated\n\nin the bill or may otherwise dispose of the goods, without liability\n\nfor misdelivery, on instructions from:\n\n(1) the holder of a negotiable bill;\n\n(2) the consignor on a nonnegotiable bill, even if the\n\nconsignee has given contrary instructions;\n\n(3) the consignee on a nonnegotiable bill in the absence of\n\ncontrary instructions from the consignor, if the goods have arrived\n\nat the billed destination or if the consignee is in possession of\n\nthe tangible bill or in control of the electronic bill; or\n\n(4) the consignee on a nonnegotiable bill, if the consignee is\n\nentitled as against the consignor to dispose of the goods.\n\n(b) Unless instructions described in subsection (a) of this\n\nsection are included in a negotiable bill of lading, a person to\n\nwhich the bill is duly negotiated may hold the bailee according to\n\nthe original terms.","path":["OK Code","Title 12A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os12A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b0bdd9a2764f692af0e1da747015e19379769421b3ea9dec7149b33d428396ea","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-7-302","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-12a-12a-7-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
