Stat. tit. 14A, § 14A-3-307","heading":"Refinancing","body":"(1) Except as rules adopted by the Administrator not\n\ninconsistent with the Federal Consumer Credit Protection Act may\n\notherwise prescribe, if the lender refinances an existing balance\n\nowing with respect to a consumer loan, refinancing or consolidation\n\npursuant to the provisions on refinancing (Section 3-205) or\n\nconsolidates an existing balance owing from a previous consumer\n\nloan, refinancing, or consolidation with the amount financed from a\n\nsubsequent consumer loan, refinancing, or consolidation or\n\nconsolidates the unpaid balance of a consumer loan with the unpaid\n\nbalance of a consumer credit sale so as to satisfy any existing\n\nbalance and replace it with a new obligation undertaken by the same\n\ndebtor, the lender shall make disclosure with respect to the new\n\ntransaction to the debtor of the information and in the manner\n\nrequired by this part.\n\n(2) A refinancing does not include:\n\n(a) a renewal of a single payment obligation with no\n\nchange in the original terms;\n\n(b) a reduction in the annual percentage rate with a\n\ncorresponding change in the payment schedule;\n\n(c) an agreement involving a court proceeding;\n\n(d) a change in the payment schedule or a change in\n\ncollateral requirements as a result of the debtor's\n\ndefault or delinquency unless the rate is increased or\n\nthe new amount financed exceeds the unpaid balance\n\nplus earned finance charge and premiums for\n\ncontinuation of consumer credit insurance or insurance\n\nagainst loss of or damage to property or against\n\nliability arising out of the ownership or use of\n\nproperty; or\n\n(e) the renewal of optional insurance purchased by the\n\ndebtor and added to an existing transaction if\n\ndisclosures relating to the initial purchase were\n\nprovided in accordance with law.","path":["OK Code","Title 14A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os14A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c1d88d9e2f2b689edfab779542fe1b60cbb8fc8c36291d2b96de71b4f02666a4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-14a-14a-3-306","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-14a-14a-3-308"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
