Stat. tit. 14A, § 14A-4-201","heading":"Term of insurance","body":"(1) Consumer credit insurance provided by a creditor may be\n\nsubject to the furnishing of evidence of insurability satisfactory\n\nto the insurer. Whether or not such evidence is required, the term\n\nof the insurance shall commence no later than when the debtor\n\nbecomes obligated to the creditor or when the debtor applies for the\n\ninsurance, whichever is later, except as follows:\n\n(a) if any required evidence of insurability is not\n\nfurnished until more than thirty (30) days after the\n\nterm would otherwise commence, the term may commence\n\non the date when the insurer determines the evidence\n\nto be satisfactory; or\n\n(b) if the creditor provides insurance not previously\n\nprovided covering debts previously created, the term\n\nmay commence on the effective date of the policy.\n\n(2) The originally scheduled term of the insurance shall extend\n\nat least until the due date of the last scheduled payment of the\n\ndebt except as follows:\n\n(a) if the insurance relates to a revolving charge account\n\nor revolving loan account, the term need extend only\n\nuntil the payment of the debt under the account and\n\nmay be sooner terminated after at least thirty (30)\n\ndays' notice to the debtor; or\n\n(b) if the debtor is advised in writing that the insurance\n\nwill be written for a specified shorter time, the term\n\nneed extend only until the end of the specified time.\n\n(3) The term of the insurance shall not extend more than\n\nfifteen (15) days after the originally scheduled due date of the\n\nlast scheduled payment of the debt unless it is extended without\n\nadditional cost to the debtor or as an incident to a deferral,\n\nrefinancing, or consolidation.","path":["OK Code","Title 14A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os14A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e54992a147b9926f430db4d2f9837ca954575ea6d2c182a46a632961e7418601","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-14a-14a-4-113","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-14a-14a-4-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
