Stat. tit. 14A, § 14A-5-105","heading":"Limitation on garnishment","body":"(1) For the purpose of this part\n\n(a) \"disposable earnings\" means that part of the earnings\n\nof an individual remaining after the deduction from\n\nthose earnings of amounts required by law to be\n\nwithheld; and\n\n(b) \"garnishment\" means any legal or equitable procedure\n\nthrough which the earnings of an individual are\n\nrequired to be withheld for payment of a debt.\n\n(2) The maximum part of the aggregate disposable earnings of an\n\nindividual for any workweek which is subjected to garnishment to\n\nenforce payment of a judgment arising from a consumer credit sale,\n\nconsumer lease, or consumer loan may not exceed the lesser of\n\n(a) twenty-five percent (25%) of his disposable earnings\n\nfor that week; or\n\n(b) the amount by which his disposable earnings for that\n\nweek exceed thirty times the federal minimum hourly\n\nwage prescribed by Section 6(a) (1) of the Fair Labor\n\nStandards Act of 1938, U.S.C.
