Stat. tit. 15, § 15-1005","heading":"Construction of power generally","body":"CONSTRUCTION OF POWER GENERALLY\n\nBy executing a statutory power of attorney with respect to a\n\nsubject listed in subsection A of Section 1 of this act, the\n\nprincipal, except as limited or extended by the principal in the\n\npower of attorney, empowers the agent, for that subject to:\n\n1. Demand, receive, and obtain by litigation or otherwise,\n\nmoney or other thing of value to which the principal is, may become,\n\nor claims to be entitled and to conserve, invest, disburse, or use\n\nanything so received for the purposes intended;\n\n2. Contract in any manner with any person, on terms agreeable\n\nto the agent, to accomplish a purpose of a transaction, and perform,\n\nrescind, reform, release, or modify the contract or another contract\n\nmade by or on behalf of the principal;\n\n3. Execute, acknowledge, seal, and deliver a deed, revocation,\n\nmortgage, lease, notice, check, release, or other instrument the\n\nagent considers desirable to accomplish a purpose of a transaction;\n\n4. Prosecute, defend, submit to arbitration, settle, and\n\npropose or accept a compromise with respect to, a claim existing in\n\nfavor of or against the principal or intervene in litigation\n\nrelating to the claim;\n\n5. Seek on the principal's behalf the assistance of a court to\n\ncarry out an act authorized by the power of attorney;\n\n6. Engage, compensate, and discharge an attorney, accountant,\n\nexpert witness, or other assistant;\n\n7. Keep appropriate records of each transaction, including an\n\naccounting of receipts and disbursements;\n\n8. Prepare, execute, and file a record, report, or other\n\ndocument the agent considers desirable to safeguard or promote the\n\nprincipal's interest under a statute or governmental regulation;\n\n9. Reimburse the agent for expenditures properly made by the\n\nagent in exercising the powers granted by the power of attorney; and\n\n10.
