Stat. tit. 15, § 15-1010","heading":"Construction of power relating to banking and other","body":"financial institution transactions.\n\nCONSTRUCTION OF POWER RELATING TO BANKING\n\nAND OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION TRANSACTIONS\n\nIn a statutory power of attorney, the language granting power\n\nwith respect to banking and other financial institution transactions\n\nempowers the agent to:\n\n1. Continue, modify, and terminate an account or other banking\n\narrangement made by or on behalf of the principal;\n\n2. Establish, modify, and terminate an account or other banking\n\narrangement with a bank, trust company, savings and loan\n\nassociation, credit union, thrift company, brokerage firm, or other\n\nfinancial institution selected by the agent;\n\n3. Hire a safe deposit box or space in a vault;\n\n4. Contract to procure other services available from a\n\nfinancial institution as the agent considers desirable;\n\n5. Withdraw by check, order, or otherwise money or property of\n\nthe principal deposited with or left in the custody of a financial\n\ninstitution;\n\n6. Receive bank statements, vouchers, notices, and similar\n\ndocuments from a financial institution and act with respect to them;\n\n7. Enter a safe deposit box or vault and withdraw or add to the\n\ncontents;\n\n8. Borrow money at an interest rate agreeable to the agent and\n\npledge as security personal property of the principal necessary in\n\norder to borrow, pay, renew, or extend the time of payment of a debt\n\nof the principal;\n\n9. Make, assign, draw, endorse, discount, guarantee, and\n\nnegotiate promissory notes, checks, drafts, and other negotiable or\n\nnonnegotiable paper of the principal, or payable to the principal or\n\nthe principal's order, receive the cash or other proceeds of those\n\ntransactions, accept a draft drawn by a person upon the principal,\n\nand pay it when due;\n\n10. Receive for the principal and act upon a sight draft,\n\nwarehouse receipt, or other negotiable or nonnegotiable instrument;\n\n11. Apply for and receive letters of credit, credit cards, and\n\ntraveler's checks from a financial institution, and give an\n\nindemnity or other agreement in connection with letters of credit;\n\nand\n\n12.
