Stat. tit. 15, § 15-1015","heading":"Construction of power relating to personal and family","body":"maintenance.\n\nCONSTRUCTION OF POWER RELATING TO PERSONAL AND FAMILY MAINTENANCE\n\nIn a statutory power of attorney, the language granting power\n\nwith respect to personal and family maintenance empowers the agent\n\nto:\n\n1. Do the acts necessary to maintain the customary standard of\n\nliving of the principal, the principal's spouse, children, and other\n\nindividuals customarily or legally entitled to be supported by the\n\nprincipal, including providing living quarters by purchase, lease,\n\nor other contract, or paying the operating costs, including\n\ninterest, amortization payments, repairs, and taxes on premises\n\nowned by the principal and occupied by those individuals;\n\n2. Provide for the individuals described in paragraph 1 of this\n\nsection normal domestic help, usual vacations and travel expenses,\n\nand funds for shelter, clothing, food, appropriate education, and\n\nother current living costs;\n\n3. Pay for the individuals described in paragraph 1 of this\n\nsection necessary medical, dental, and surgical care,\n\nhospitalization, and custodial care;\n\n4. Continue any provision made by the principal, for the\n\nindividuals described in paragraph 1 of this section, for\n\nautomobiles or other means of transportation, including registering,\n\nlicensing, insuring, and replacing them;\n\n5. Maintain or open charge accounts for the convenience of the\n\nindividuals described in paragraph 1 of this section and open new\n\naccounts the agent considers desirable to accomplish a lawful\n\npurpose; and\n\n6.
