Stat. tit. 15, § 15-722","heading":"Unsolicited goods sent by organization to member after","body":"termination of membership.\n\nIf a person is a member of an organization which makes retail sales\n\nof any goods, wares, or merchandise to its members, and the person\n\nnotifies the organization of his termination of membership by\n\ncertified mail, return receipt requested, any unordered goods,\n\nwares, or merchandise which are sent to the person after forty-five\n\n(45) days following execution of the return receipt for the\n\ncertified letter by the organization shall for all purposes be\n\ndeemed unconditional gifts to the person, who may use or dispose of\n\nthe goods, wares, or merchandise in any manner he sees fit without\n\nany obligation on his part to the organization.\n\nIf the termination of a person's membership in such organization\n\nbreaches any agreement with the organization, nothing in this\n\nsection shall relieve the person from liability for damages to which\n\nhe might be otherwise subjected pursuant to law, but he shall not be\n\nsubject to any damages with respect to any goods, wares, or\n\nmerchandise which are deemed unconditional gifts to him under this\n\nsection.\n\nIf after any receipt deemed to be an unconditional gift under\n\nthis section, the sender continues to send bill statements or\n\nrequests for payment with respect thereto, an action may be brought\n\nby the recipient to enjoin such conduct, in which action there may\n\nalso be awarded reasonable attorneys' fees and costs to the\n\nprevailing party.","path":["OK Code","Title 15"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os15.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c974f676bdd706d7448be8de529fa4340ce1119995363388aecbb5303d2fdc9a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-721","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-73"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
