Stat. tit. 15, § 15-756.1","heading":"Actions by Attorney General or district attorney -","body":"Consent judgment - Orders.\n\nA. The Attorney General or a district attorney may bring an\n\naction:\n\n1. To obtain a declaratory judgment that an act or practice\n\nviolates the Consumer Protection Act;\n\n2. To enjoin, or to obtain a restraining order against a person\n\nwho has violated, is violating, or is likely to violate the Consumer\n\nProtection Act;\n\n3. To recover actual damages and, in the case of unconscionable\n\nconduct, penalties as provided by this act, on behalf of an\n\naggrieved consumer, in an individual action only, for violation of\n\nthe Consumer Protection Act; or\n\n4. To recover reasonable expenses and investigation fees.\n\nB. In lieu of instigating or continuing an action or\n\nproceeding, the Attorney General or a district attorney may accept a\n\nconsent judgment with respect to any act or practice declared to be\n\na violation of the Consumer Protection Act. Such a consent judgment\n\nshall provide for the discontinuance by the person entering the same\n\nof any act or practice declared to be a violation of the Consumer\n\nProtection Act, and it may include a stipulation for the payment by\n\nsuch person of reasonable expenses and investigation fees incurred\n\nby the Attorney General or a district attorney. The consent\n\njudgment also may include a stipulation for restitution to be made\n\nby such person to consumers of money, property or other things\n\nreceived from such consumers in connection with a violation of this\n\nact and also may include a stipulation for specific performance.\n\nAny consent judgment entered into pursuant to this section shall not\n\nbe deemed to admit the violation, unless it does so by its terms.\n\nBefore any consent judgment entered into pursuant to this section\n\nshall be effective, it must be approved by the district court and an\n\nentry made thereof in the manner required for making an entry of\n\njudgment. Once such approval is received, any breach of the\n\nconditions of such consent judgment shall be treated as a violation\n\nof a court order, and shall be subject to all the penalties provided\n\nby law therefor.\n\nC. In any action brought by the Attorney General or a district\n\nattorney, the court may:\n\n1. Make such orders or judgments as may be necessary to prevent\n\nthe use or employment by a person of any practice declared to be a\n\nviolation of the Consumer Protection Act;\n\n2. Make such orders or judgments as may be necessary to\n\ncompensate any person for damages sustained;\n\n3. Make such orders or judgments as may be necessary to carry\n\nout a transaction in accordance with consumers' reasonable\n\nexpectations;\n\n4. Appoint a master or receiver or order sequestration of\n\nassets to prevent the use or enjoyment of proceeds derived through\n\nillegal means and assess the expenses of a master or receiver\n\nagainst the defendant;\n\n5. Revoke any license or certificate authorizing that person to\n\nengage in business in this state;\n\n6. Enjoin any person from engaging in business in this state;\n\nor\n\n7. Grant other appropriate relief.\n\nD.
